Throughout New Zealand, Homebirth Associations are sustained by women committed to promoting natural childbirth. If you treasure your homebirthing experience and the midwifery care that made it possible, then consider joining with like-minded poeple and promote homebirth.
About Us
The Canterbury Homebirth Association (CHBA) has been in existence since 1976 and is a voluntary organisation that promotes and supports home birth as an alternative to hospital birth.
Antenatal Classes
The Canterbury Homebirth Association works with the Home Birth Antenatal Classes Trust which runs antenatal classes with a focus on giving skills and information to help women birth at home.

Committee Meetings
All members are encouraged to come along to these monthly meetings where all matters relating to the Association and what we can do in the community are discussed.
Homebirth Library
The CHBA has a collection of books available for loan for members.
CHBA Morning Tea and Playgroup
A relaxed get together with like minded parents (or parents to be!). These occur every month on the first Wednesday of the month.
