CHBA Carebank

Postnatal meals and housework bank

Having a new baby makes for a busy life.

If you would like to join other home birth families supporting each other by providing meals and housework in the weeks after a baby is born, join the Canterbury Homebirth Association’s Carebank.

How to be part of the Carebank

  • Join the Canterbury Homebirth Association
  • Start gaining credits (in one hour increments) by helping out another family, by cooking a meal, doing housework such as vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, doing laundry.
  • Use up your credits when you have your own baby.
  • Credits can also be gifted to another person.
  • Go into debit if your baby is due soon (but no more than 15 hours, to be repaid within two years).
  • Contact between account holders is by email in the first instance, to protect privacy.
  • Email Jo Davis to join, with information including: names, address, phone numbers, due date of your baby (if pregnant) and any special dietary requirements.
